The stronger fleets go where there's something worth fighting for, and with a greater need for defense. The smaller freighters tend to steer away from the elite pirates and head for safer ports. RNGesus blessed me with a star detroyer right out of the gate, but I do a lot of warp travel and I see the capital ships calling for aid more often in high-conflict systems with healthy and prosperous economies. I never tested this theory, as by the time I get to my 10th warp I'm always well past the 8 hour mark. I hope I covered everything, but feel free to shoot any questions my way.Īlso, some people claim that you need to have at least 8 hours in your saves 'time played' counter (visible on the main menu when choosing a slot) before capital freighter battles will happen, in addition to the minimum number of warps required. If you don't like 'em, reload, and warp again to that same system, and keep save-scumming until you're happy with the stats / slots / rank, all of which are independent of the physical freighter 'model'. Then, when you find one you like, kill off the pirates, land on the freighter, and check the stats. Each system will have a different capital freighter model. When your time is 'up' for a capital battle, and you warp into one, if you dislike the look of that freighter reload the game and warp to any other random system. Now, the trick is to land at a station and save before each warp. Assuming you clear the time requirement, they'll spawn roughly every 5 warps. After that, they're gated by both time played (unpaused) and number of warps.

You only start getting them after a certain number of warps, I think you need the milestone for 10 warps before they'll start spawning. Capital freighter battles will already be in progress when you jump into the system, and you'll enter the system practically on top of the capital freighter.

Those are not the same as capital freighter battles. If you're getting the hard-coded third warp regular freighter rescue mission via ship comm, that's normal. What do you mean 'getting regular freighters' ?
